Please consider sponsoring our neighborhood Fight Summer Hunger Program. Heavenly Manna food pantry is located in an area within Fort Myers where we have been even harder hit than other areas. Statistics show we currently are a blighted area where we have 21% unemployment and a 35% Distressed Properties rate and many homes are now in pre foreclosure, or they are now bank owned properties.

While our funding has been drastically reduced due to this economic down turn our cost to operate has risen. We don’t want to turn anyone away. Previously we served the extremely indigent and homeless, now we see many who look like you and me who are skilled laborers or white collar workers who continue to be out of work and their unemployment just is not enough, or their unemployment has ended, and they need help taking care of their families.

We are reaching out to you to ask for your financial support. The needs are beginning to surpass our ability to serve the increasing number of people. Currently we impact 2,500 ~ 3,000 people each month. When school is out, the demand sharply increases because children who receive 2 nutritious meals at school have to depend on their parents to feed them.

Please, won’t you help us, we are our brother’s keeper, and we must take care of our brothers, sister, mothers, fathers, children and grandparents. The majority of people we impact are children, elderly, and then adults.

On an individual basis we are encouraging men and women to donate. If your employees would like to give please encourage them to give once or twice a month. We will accept any amount, and as little as $ .67 per day can make a difference to your neighbors. This may not sound like much, but when we collectively work together, your little turns into a lot. Our goal is to reach a minimum of 300, but ultimately we would like to see 500 people a month give $20.00.
